Silenced
You're harsh words lash out to me,
I'm feeling pain with each syllable,
My protective barrier is being broken,
Crumbling to pieces before my eyes.
The fire set deep into you're pulsing veins,
You are going in for the kill.
Bruises imprinted on my damaged heart,
I am suffering a slow death,
Your satisfactory level is increasing,
You know you're going to come out on top.
This is an endless cycle,
Repeated violence,
What are my options?
So I spread my wings and soar to freedom,
In a land where I'm safe,
I cannot be destroyed any longer,
For I am in a place of happiness.
