The Subconscious Mind
It is something I can’t explain;
 My slim fingers can not type fast enough,
 My voice is not loud enough.
 I have trouble forming sentences under pressure,
 And, well, your gaze hasn’t left mine for a while.
 Like a child with little hands, little eyes, a little mind, a little everything
 I cower in your shadow.
 You hold me in a tiny room in the back of my mind.
 I constantly wish to leave,
 But never have the courage to speak,
 To ask for such freedom.
 This is all I have known.
