passion like fire

from the depths of my soul
from my darkest desires
a passion arose with an unknowing fire
it burned and flickered
with an intoxicated glow,
an irresistible aroma
not even the most vivid of dreams
nor wild imaginings
could possibly awake
from the depths of my soul
from my darkest desires
a passion arose
with an unknowing fire
and like a comet
burning free and bright
it lit my world
then passed me by
