That August
They came for you way too soon.
They huddled around you like fireflies,
Lit up your life, then carried it away from you.
They rose you up,
Higher and higher you went.
And it was to my surprise to find you there,
Alone and wakeless.
You never were meant to be away from here,
So where are you now?
Will you come into my dreams?
Will you wake me from sleep?
I could dream all night to help this pain rise.
I keep asking God what happened,
But he refuses to reply.
Please help me out.
Now I've calculated everything that could have helped you fly,
but I don't get why you hadn't helped me calculate it.
Now I've calculated everything that could have helped you fly,
but I dont get why you hadnt helped me calculate it.
