Depression
You know you’re depressed…
when you detest the stars:
they stand in the sky and give others light
yet their light doesn’t touch you
when you envy the plants:
the only pain they know is the stomping of people and the poisons of man
but even so
after being stepped on, they rise again even taller
the only death they know is icy winter
but even so
they die with hope, believing they can make it to spring
when you hear of love, you think
of the biting cold winter wind
no longer do you believe that love is forever
but short and never lasting
that love is like a cloud:
one day here, the next gone
stormy and unpredictable
when you silently scream for help,
and nobody bothers to hear you
when you are weak and show it
but nobody comes to help you
when you slowly and quietly die,
and nobody cares for you.
