Wingless Bird
The world on a cliff-side view
the only place left of quiet beauty
And though I'm dreaming, it feels so true
Yet so do the feelings I try so hard to hold
in my weak clenched hand
And I step forward
To be closer to my love
I know it's imagined
But at least for a little while
I'm blissful
And when I spread my arms
As if to embrace the ocean
I lean towards
those wonderful emotions
waiting
And I fly
I fly like a bird
who's wingless
but always hopes
something will catch me
When I fall
fall, fall
And as the wind whispers
I wonder why
why, why
do I try
when you're always
wishing and wanting,
it's not a life at all
Why can't I just fall
into my dreams
As these last thoughts of peace
pass I smile and welcome sleep

The author's comments:
I was having a hard time dealing with my life and instead of the painful alternative I was thinking about, I chose to write a poem that expressed my story. The words have many meanings, some different then what they first appear to be and I hope those who need help like I did will understand what I've said through this poem.

The line "Why can't I just fall into my dreams" means to me my longing to leave my reality and become a part of my dreams. In short, my dreams are much better than my life.

"Why can't I just fall into my dreams?"

I'm not sure how well I understand all of your symbolism, but I can definitely relate to that. Beautiful.
