Life will kill you eventually.

is the place where dreams
di vide
into practicalities
(and the sweet green air)

And I forgo tragedy for monotony
SameOldSameOld
Life's endless warfare
(one way or another)

I prefer to conjure utopian traits
instead of raising my eyes from the floor
Here, that's alright
(Never was going to amount to much)

We bear our crosses and
we can't toss them
for fear of the next load
(What if? haunts us forever)

Hope's shards pave our driveways
Here, the greatest disease is
I'm Not Good Enough
(for everything I've ever wanted)

Hi!  I'm new here, but I just wanted to say I love this poem.  Great work!  I especially liked how "divide" is divided in the first verse and the line about "I'm Not Good Enough" being a disease.  Thanks for sharing this!
