Contradictions
The moon is my love,
The sun is the sword,
Rivals and friends,
One in the same but forever miles apart.
The music sounds familiar,
But I don't recognize the words.
They echo like thunder
In the sky I see above,
That blinds me like the darkness,
And deafens me like the silence.
A room with no heat
Will burn me to death
If I do not find the answers;
If I cannot see the light.
Good would not be so remarkable
If the bad wasn't there to make it dance
Like the flames of a candle
And the melting wax of the skin
Held without sound over the solo.
The music so familiar,
The pain so real,
But the tempo is different...
It's lighter and more peaceful.
For the air is thinner still,
It gets harder to breathe,
In this world so filled with desire,
Where you cannot have what you want
And you do not want what you have;
Where to acquire peace you must fight,
And to have the sun
You must bow first to the moon.
