Beach
The beach is a broad quiet place
a place that is always in the back of my mind
a place for thinking
sitting there
the wind blows thoughts around my head
like the wind sweeping through a wheat field
and the sun shinning on my hair
courses through my mind
the water sits quietly there
on top of centuries of human recollection
farther than we can remember
it sits there
and the fish
cooling in the blue bliss
drinking in the depth
have seen it all
who is to tell where this water has been
but when I float on its powerful swishing current
I can feel centuries pass through my bones
bypassing all human existence
