Dear Mallory, (This Ones For You)
I hurt like you hurt.
I feel like you feel.
I hope like you hurt.
I dream like you dream
and I know what you're thinking
but the end isn't near.
Far from it my dear.
We're just the beginning
without a middle or an end.
It's not yet time to lose faith.
Because it all started here.
And so never being born
into the same family,
never knowing the others name
until now.
a world apart we soon became.
And yet,
we're connected by
our pains
and our fears
our hopes
and our tears
our dreams
and our potential.
The things
we were meant to be.
Two complete strangers
with the same underline pain.
Two different destinies
becoming the same.
And so one day
I showed you my scars
as you showed me yours
and the deeper we looked
the more we saw
we aren't so different
not at all.
And so I opened up
I let you in.
For once in my life
showed who I am.
I let you see me,
as you let me see you.
Without ever knowing
what we had been through
Leaving our pride at the door
we poured our hearts on the floor.
Letting the other see
how deep scars could be.
Trying to take it in
trying to understand
but we both reached out a hand.
I let you know you'll be okay
even in a world like today.
And so I'm telling you
I see your pain.
I see what you're going through
when it seems
like your would is crashing in
and your burden is too heavy.
When your hear is broken,
crying out in pain.
When you're weak
and can't continue on.
When you feel
as if all hope is lost.
I'll be there for you
just the same
because I know what you're going through.
I'll love you
no matter what
because that's what families do.
Bonded by a world of pain
and together we will make it through.
