But Maybe It's Just Me
Perhaps loneliness is someone I hadn't considered,
He's smart, he's cunning, and always afraid.
Loneliness feels like a stake to the heart,
But maybe it's just me.
Perhaps loneliness is someone who copes with pain,
Like medicine or band aids or crying till content.
He's always there, this greater feeling of uncertainty.
But maybe it's just me.
Perhaps loneliness is someone beyond the arms of love,
Just like hate or selfishness or anger or greed.
He's chocking me again like wooden words in my throat.
But maybe it's just me.
Perhaps loneliness is someone that needs to be heard,
Like all the other voices in the world,
So no one is ever left alone and cold in the dark,
But maybe it's not just me.
