Innocence
The sunlight filters through the spring time trees,
And dances upon the field of flowers.
In particular a young boy’s eye wanders the grassy plains;
Until he finds the perfect one.
A small yellow buttercup amid a sea of green,
Looking safe in the calm light of the sun.
The child tugs on his mother’s skirt and walks her to the center of the light.
“It’s for you!” he points to the flower,
And the flower is graced by the mother’s smile.
