Alone in Her Dorm
She cried herself to sleep
Two times that week.
She didn't know if it was from the
Isolation,
Of being locked in own
Little four-sided room
While the strings of
Laughter floated around just outside
The door, creating connections
Of friendship and love.
Or if it was the
Indifference
Of her guardian,
Whose attitude of "You shall not
Make friends of these
Horrid girls,"
Stung every time she
Made eye contact.
