You may have had a good week
Climbing out of your river of sorrows
But you forgot who you left to drown
And that’s okay.
Being saved is not my style
But I know that it is yours
So be saved and live and love
And I’ll see you when you’re back to swim
And I’ll watch you sleeping on the shores.

Thank you for the praise and the high rating! Yes, a bit sad indeed. With poetry, I rarely read more than Bukowski and Poe, so that's surely part of the cause.

I must agree: very powerful... although a bit sad. Ah! How easy it is to forget those that are left behind in sorrow when we are ourselves fine. Well done with this poem. (I gave it five stars!).
