I was told as a child, when you kiss a toad, it turns into a handsome prince.
Well I have kissed many toads, and they never change for the good.
I was told as a child, if you want to fly all you need is pixie dust.
Well I had flourished myself with makeup and perfume, but I still don’t get my way.
I was told as a child, a magic genie gives you three wishes.
Well all the magic genies I’ve met told me to do it myself.
I was told as a child, theres a magical kingdom of mermaids deep in the ocean.
Well all the stories I’ve heard, everyone drowns looking for it.
I was told as a child, that if you eat an apple, its poisoned.
Well then why are my parents trying to kill me?
I was told as a child, if you prick your finger, you fall asleep for centuries.
Well why when I prick myself, I just bleed.
I was told as a child, an ugly beast is really a kind gentlemen.
Well maybe you should have told me that before I fell in love with this creature.
I was told as a child if I change my appearance, I can be a new person.
Well as much as I die my hair, everyone still treats me the same.
I was told as a child, that all the evil people are punished, and all the good live happily ever after.
Well I grew up, and it seems to me, its just the opposite.
