Traffic Collision
I spend my time burning the midnight oil
 Looking upon that one star

My brain distracted, and in a coil
I wish you were not so far

I lay around, our blanket sheltering me from the soil
But our quilt cannot hide my mar

I should have been there to convince you, to spoil
You’re last decision, to drive that car

 It took your life
 And mine

The accident left me in strife
All I can do is cope, muffle my cries and whine

 I have our treasures
A blanket and star, abandoned since your depart

The flowers on your grave may become wilted,
But you will always have my heart
