Just One More
Just one more swig of rum
Just enough to dull the pain
 Just enough to numb

Woke up, head crazed like a zoo
Hid his breath with mints and gum
Needs work to support his family of two

 Could not stop the bottle
To the monster he did succumb
At the pretzels near the bar, he did not leave a crumb

Shame how the years have gone by
 An alcoholic bum
Keg of beer and a hitchhikers thumb

In each city you grow sicker
Struggle everyday to hold your liquor
Life in shambles from the flask

 Not even a deceiving mask
 Abusing that rum…
 What a detrimental task
