Innocence
Black nails brush away hidden tears
A curtain of golden hair hides a porcelain face
Deep blue eyes desperately searching for something unfound
Peace eludes her; tranquility is unknown
Darkness is a friend; light is an acquaintance
A troubled home has made her wise beyond her years
No time to be a child; straight to adult she goes
Still wanting her naive view of the world
All while knowing the truth
But longing for the innocence of childhood
