Parody of Reckoning- 1945
When the dust settles,
there will be rainbows once more
the geese will fly north in great

 clouds
that darken the sky with anticipation
Mothers will cut fresh green onions

from gardens as wide as their

  streets
 Rain will baptize the drought
   And new storms will grow

    and grow

    and grow
until we are under the trees

gazing up in wonder at how
     something formerly so small
     can change into everything.
