Green, was the color of your eyes when I first saw you.
While walking down fifth avenue.
Green, was the color of your dress.
That while you walked swayed ever so slightly in the summer wind.
Green, was the color of your toenails.
Peeking out from your sandals like a hermit from its shell.
Green, was the color of the trees.
When the light hit you and the blue hue of your black hair shone.
Green, is the color of the Earth.
The color of the mound, where beneath you sleep, your eyes forever closed.
