In the picture
he squints at the camera,
arm around her shoulders,
smile beneath his moustache.
In the picture
she gazes up at him,
arm around him,
smile beneath her floppy sun hat.
The frame is one of those
generic cardboard frames,
from a vacation or a cruise.
The picture is
anything but generic.
Man and woman,
both widowed,
both with grown children,
both with love in their hearts.
Maybe they won’t stay as one
forever,
but this picture has captured
their happiness in
being
together.

ONE, I JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT THE PICTURE CHOICE TO COMPLEMENT YOUR ARTICLE COULDNT BE MORE PERFECT-ITS REALLY PRETTY. SECIND, I LOVED THE POEM. SO SIMPLE YET MEANINGFUL! GOOD WORK!!! :-)
