My Own Escape
The world is spinning,
Never ending,
Unicorns grinning,
I'm not pretending.
Floating through a cloud of my own confusion,
I think I'm addicted to this illusion.
Can't you see?
I've lost my pride.
Lied,
Cried,
And nearly died.
Hands shaking,
Fears awakening,
It's only forty pills I'm taking…
Lurking around in the medicine aisle,
I can't help but flash a mischievous smile.
Only one more time,
I'll swallow this stuff.
This dirty crime,
Just can't get enough.
Fake happiness,
Hiding under my cape.
These purple pills,
My own escape.
