I swing back and forth
my hair flowing in the wind

I reach the tips of my toes
up and up
trying to reach the branch
of the old pine tree
just like when I was little

My legs are longer now
and it's much easier
to reach the tree

But the thrill once you touch
that branch is the same

I sing and hum songs
softly to myself

I smile enjoying
the peace and tranquility
of the now abandoned park

I slow just a little
and leap off the swings

I land on my feet
but remember all too quickly
the cuts on my knees
from many unsuccessful landings

As I walk home
I can't get over
the feeling of new found hope
that fills me and carries me away
on a soft fluffy cloud
while I try to catch
a glimpse of heaven

I was at the park remembering my days there as a little kid and inspiration struck.

Never be afraid to do something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark; professionals built the titanic.

I like the whole poem, up to the last stanza. You should of stopped at, "from many unsuccessful landings." To me, it just didn't make any sense adding the last part. It didn't fit into the rest of the poem.
