Please
We are who we are when we're falling apart
and I fall into you:
well that's a start.
If I were a dancer, my feet would bleed.
I just want to make something beautiful...
You turn me away
when it's my turn to speak; you make me so meek.
Ohgodyet you take a lighter
to my ear and set fire
deep down into my brain.
(you drive me insane)
If I were an artist, I'd starve.
I just want to make something important.
You tap your fingers
impatiently
on my knee.
I tap my feet nervously
on the tile.
When you turn your head away,
looking outwards,
I know you're thinking of me
and that's what you were counting on.
