the ocean
i went swimming on saturday.
not just swimming,
swimming in the ocean.
the real life, deadly dangerous,
dazzling, ocean.
and it was bliss.
no lifeguards,
no parents,
no crowds,
just me and the perfectly imperfect ocean.
the sand stretched for eternity on either side of me,
and the crashing waves sang joyfully in the sun.
from the moment my toes touched the water,
i was free.
the waves took control,
and my body was tossed and turned.
i had no grip on reality,
i was free.
i love that feeling of just letting go in the ocean.
not thinking, not trying, just doing, just letting go.
i feel free in the ocean.
i feel me.
i nearly drowned on saturday.
and i loved every minute of it.
