The Meadow of My Dreams
you see right through my pretenses
and look past my defenses
to meet me in the place
where the grass grows green
we sit and talk and smile
alone for a little while
just living breathing being
apart from time
you conquer all my fears
and wipe away my tears
leaving me with nothing
but what’s inside
you ripped away my mask
before any time had passed
you gave me wings
and taught me how to fly
so high
with just a playful wink of your eye
with you i’m simply me
there’s no one else to be
in the moist foggy
meadow of my dreams
