Comfort Couch
Sitting on the back porch
A wicker couch with cushions
My feet hang over the edge
When it rains, mist hits my face
Through the screened in walls
When it gets cooler
I take a soft fleece blanket
Or a roomy sweatshirt
And sip hot chocolate
While a cool breeze soaks my face
In the warm sunshine
I relax while
Soaking in the heat
Listening to my iPod
Or taking a nap
During the days of early
August, I say goodbye
To my couch and say
Hello to my desk again
My annual routine.
A couch to rest on.
A couch to dream on.
A couch to miss dearly.
A comfort couch.
