Ex Lover
It has been over three years now,
Since I let you in and took off my crown.
Sweat dripping from your bushy blonde brow,
You looked down at me and began to frown
Rumors were no longer rumors,
What was spoken behind our backs was now true
I smile now but find no humor
In the thought that I lost all of myself to you.
Freshman year is now a blur,
Of whispered promises and secret touch’s
I put my crown back on and say goodbye to you dear sir
Now we are separate despite our desperate clutches.
The air is cold and autumn is here,
When I open my eyes I will forget my fears
I will never shed another tear over you
Even though I want nothing more than your warm hands
Touching my soft face
If I could go back to those days I’d be happy.
But for now I will sit here
High up on my throne,
Staring you down with my hungry loveless eyes
