Starry Night

As long as I paint the night sky
I see hope in a dark world
And shooting dreams to make a wish on
Not a final frontier once the Earth is gone
Nor plane crashes or exploding stars
But a place to look at to find inner peace
Like a quiet corner of the world all to yourself

The colors I use are inspring yellow and vast blue
Take me back to a trip to the ocean
When reality seemed far away
Like only the wind, the vibrant waves and I existed
So that worries and unhappy thoughts could not interrupt us
And nothing could be wrong in the world

When my work is sold
When it hangs on some family's home
Or on the crowded walls
Of a famous museum
Children will walk by
They will picture what I pictured
And know a starry night will last forever
