You put on your glasses,
and you can't see pass them,
you only see what you want,
you sugarcoat everyone,
can't you see that's not right,
you can't read between the lines,
or see the lies,
nobody's perfect,
you just have to forfeit,
the idea that the world is great,
just wait,
in time you'll see,
just how awful the world can be.

Wow - this was great! I mean, even though it had more of a somber, dark tone, I loved the emotions that went into it!

A little disheartening (especially since I wear glasses. Haha yes, I do know it's figurative). But then again, that's realism for ya. Nice job accomplishing what you wanted with this poem! :)
