Listen To the Rain
Be quiet, child,
and listen to the rain.
Listen as the drops shatter against the window pane,
watch the puddles on the ground as they grow,
feel the cold breeze on your face.
Pull your jacket a little closer,
stuff your little hands in your pockets.
Don't be afraid when the thunder claps
and the lighting flashes.
It's only adding to the music of the rain.
Let your tears mix with the sky's,
don't be ashamed,
you can be weak for a little while.
The clouds know your pain.
Lay down to rest,
let the melody free your mind.
Be quiet, precious child,
just listen to the rain.
