Slowly Dying

See those trees over there,
they're slowly losing their fight with despair,
they can't produce our air,

see those birds up high,
they can barely fly,
in our polluted sky,

see those animals with the sad eyes,
they just want to hide,
from the humans they despise,

can you see the stars at night?
and don't you lie,
can you see the stars through the city's light?

can you see the world crying,
and hear its drawn out sighing?
can you see it slowly dying?

I agree with super_nerd. I completely agree with the idea that humans are carelessly destroying the beauty of this world.

I love your repetition and rhetorical questions. And your themes are very similar to mine, I have two poems I'm thinking of posting, one about trees, the other about birds. How funny! :) I like that you point out how our actions are affecting the beauty of life...very nice
