Devastation
Calmness,
Interrupted by a sense
Of terror,
Evacuation,
To late for some,
Screams from every hallway,
Long passages cut short
By danger,
Night air becomes poisoned,,
The clean crisp atmosphere becomes
Laden with a grey menace,
Friends that you never new were,
Came to aid,
Heroic faces replace those of fright,
Loved ones escape the yellow
Demon in the brink of time,
While some meet defeat,
Before help is able,
Never before seen tears stream down,
Like rivers calling for an end to tragedy,
Precious belongings lost
to an unwilling negotiator,
Memories are all that remain of
What once was,
As the toy like flames lick at the finish,
As the once sanctuary meets its defeat.
