The Presence of Pain
Every waking moment is waning.
Will day break?
Sad souls pray for redemption.
Are they to be heard?
No one knows.
His heart straps to his sleeve.
What a sad song to be sung.
Harsh melodies ring from the tears of the forgotten,
They rain down in a monsoon,
Covering us in a scarlet blanket.
His life forever drags.
Darkness follows him down the ebony road.
An immense cloud of pain surges through his body.
Will his sunrise ever come?
Alone he walks ahead.
Every step oscillating between fear and frustration.
Stripped of his conscience, inner demons overtake him;
a lost cause.
In a world where empathy is gone,
he is left alone.
