Freedom
Freedom
The darkness kisses my toes
As I step out onto the cool porch steps
The frosty dew of the morning
Does not know this warmth
And the fresh rush of noon
Cannot quell this silent peace
Dreaming beneath the stars
A cliché so intricate
Yet delicate and simple
My heart warms inside my chest
As my eyes lift to the heavens
And my thoughts are silenced
Cold shadows pool over me
The night is blind with clarity
Each breath I take is accented
With tranquility, relief, and safety
This is happiness
This is freedom
