Child of a Fallen Angel
Shadow and ash and
blood and tears and snow
Feathers burnt and broken
Crumble to dust
As blood runs down my arms
And stains the snow
Blackened wings in tattered cinders around me
Tears freezing as they fall
Becoming dimonds in the snow
Blood-red, ash covered snow
Bleeding brands cover my skin
Marking me as something wrong
Something different and disgusting
Something with no right to be
Marking my loss
Loss of sky
Loss of home
Loss of love
In my broken, frozen exile
What were my crimes?
What did I do?
I'll tell you
I dared to exist
To be born of my mother's affair
With a mortal
