Transcend Men
You talk too much of love and pain,
You think too much of power and greed,
You want to be man.
While you sit and write of such things,
Oceans crash and waves churn so fluently,
More fluent than the words roll off your lips,
They couldn’t care less about pain.
The trees in a summer’s newborn meadow,
Sway in a breeze they cannot see,
Not because they have no eyes,
Nor because it cannot be seen,
They accept and embrace the truth.
Convey your thoughts to the stars,
For man can never comprehend,
Your mind is too precious to share,
So lock it away in a dungeon and swallow the key,
For men refuse to listen with their heart.
A dog sits in his seat wagging his tail,
While you drive to “put him down”.
Are you human enough to see,
His thoughts are of the trees.
Transcend men,
Talk not of your own pains, fears, or love,
Think not of another man’s greed nor his power,
You want to be man,
So rejoin the soil of which you were born,
Knowing that life will forever be yours.
