Obvious Things
Without kindness,
Beauty is futile.
Like the glance I received just now,
Such was blind of passion.
I learned—at fifteen—
That silent hatred is the reward
For invisible grace.
That cold barrier of your ego
Could send even the strong children to their mothers’ arms.
Who would face the challenge,
To break that selfish tide?
I think one could show even reptiles:
The effort at which we present smiles.
Especially if such a decision was born in deceit.
