winter
Christmas trees,
Decorated with red and green beads.
 Yellow lights on pines,
They always make me feel fine.
We always eat ham or turkey,
 And maybe some beef jerky.

As we drive to my relatives’ house,
 I feel like a mouse.
 In the tiny car,
 We drive very far.
 To open our presents,
 And watch pheasants.

To bless our food from God,
And play with my relatives’ dogs.
 To go to church,
 And lurch
 To the songs
 As they go along.

 To pray,
 And play
 Christmas soundtracks,
And send my cousins’ presents in packs.
 To finish up the holidays,
With a new year of many following days!
