Through These Eyes
Through these eyes,
I've seen tears,
tears remembered,
for the next thousand years.
Through these ears,
I've heard bones,
bend and break,
it's sound drives home.
Though these lips,
I've spoken prayer,
pray to be home,
home's smell, home's air.
Though this nose,
I've smelt blood,
it's always running,
like us though the mud.
Though these hands,
I've touched the dead,
fallen commrades,
my heart may mend.
Though these eyes,
I've seen war,
war that these solider's eyes
will always endure...
