The sad thing is
You’re not good for me and I know it
But I keep running back
Like a little kid tiptoeing to the candy jar
Trying to get more when she knows
She shouldn’t
I’ve seen what you’ve done to other girls
Jade, Jaime, Mariah…
But I try to forget
I try to be the anorexic that avoids facing the problem
Because I want to be
that girl
And hurting myself like this only gets me closer
Yesterday, we talked, you paid attention to me
Like you wanted to
like I was everything
But I know it’s only a matter of time
before the next Jade comes around
I say goodbye, tell you I’ll talk to you later
And the sad the sad thing is
I mean it.
