My Guide on What to Do When You’re Haunted by the Boredom Ghost
Sneaky, cunning, and invincible…
It creeps along, quickly and quietly…
No one knows it’s there until it attacks…
Boredom strikes again!
It can’t be defeated,
Because it’s invincible,
So I’ll have to take desperate measures,
And just wait it out.
It’s hard to wait it out,
Because there’s nothing that I want to do,
So finding something that I want to do,
Isn’t something that I want to do.
Maybe I can find something somewhere in the house.
No, there’s nothing that I want to do right now.
Maybe I can find something in my closet.
No, there’s nothing that I want to do right now.
Maybe I can play a game.
No, everyone’s busy right now.
Maybe I can play a solitaire card game.
No, I don’t want to do that right now.
Maybe I can find another solitaire game.
No, there’s nothing that I want to play right now.
Maybe I can read a book.
No there’s nothing that I want to read right now.
But maybe…
Since I can’t defeat the ghost of boredom,
That haunts me to no end,
And I have to wait it out…
And since no one can play with me…
I’ll have to play one-sidedly.
I’ll do…
Practical jokes!!!
I love a good practical joke,
And anyone can be my victim.
All they have to do is unsuspectingly
Open a cabinet,
Pull a door,
Even open up a drawer.
If I don’t want to do
Things in the house,
Things in the closet,
Two-player games,
Solitaire card games,
Other solitaire games,
And books…
I can do
Booby traps
Throwing things,
Startling people,
Arranging things the wrong way,
Squirt guns,
Other kinds of mischief with water,
And more!
The art of mischief,
Specifically the art of practical jokes,
Is always something that I find fun and funny.
In my world of practical jokes,
There’s no such thing as boredom.
After all, when it comes to practical jokes…
There’s always something to do!
Uh-oh,
That boredom ghost will have to find someone else to haunt!
