I Wrote A Letter to a Wildflower
I wrote a letter to a wildflower
I dreamed the moon came down
And we spoke of many things
I lay upon a faraway hill
And wondered where the clouds go
I thought I knew
The mind of a rock
But then realized it has none
I climbed to the top of the mighty oak
And tried to touch the sun
But then fell, Icarus again
Into the arms of Mother Night
I ran and ran to catch the stars
Who float gently in sweet, sad suicide
To the ground below
I sang with the wolves to the
Deep dark sky
And joined them on their hunt
I listened to the symphony of sunset
And painted the leaves for Fall
Then stood by and watched them die
I lost my heart and when I
Found it again
It was broken beyond repair
