More than a while
The mother once smiled.
Happiness and joy
surrounded her
Now, she is grieving over her
only son
15 years old, and gone like the wind
A sweet boy, kind and gentle
His smile shined so brightly it
could be seen from space.
Yet, he is now watching
above us
2 bullets to his chest and the
blood runs
Gushing out of his body like
water explodes from a fire
hydrant
Now hours have passed.
His body lays there,
cold to the bone
His soul is gone
No pulse, his heart is like a icebox
It's not beating..
when just yesterday it was
beating like a drum
So full of life and goodness
yet no one knew his life
behind closed doors
A life of violence and
discrimination.
The kid has been to so many
funerals the dead welcome
his presence
He has shed so many tears
he can no longer shed
anymore
He displays no emotion
A frown, is permanent on his
once smiling face
But now, he's gone
His mother, can't grasp it
She rocks her self to sleep,
his face clogging her
thoughts and mind
She's shed so many tears her
pillow is now as wet as a
soggy piece of bread.
Pain in her head,
she sits on her sons cold bed
She remembers his smile.
And she thought,
bringing him into this world.
He'd stay, more than a while
