Beautiful
Eyes touch, hold,
Suspend us in time for a moment.
All else falls away,
Suddenly unimportant.
Our eyes lock.
We see nothing of the world around us.
We hear nothing but our own breathing.
The heat between us rising,
An ever-growing steam.
Our unspoken desires
Apparent in our faces,
Yet we dare not move any closer;
For fear that others may see,
May disapprove,
Would it matter if they did?
Those hands on his lap-
If only they would reach out
And let me feel their warmth;
Caress me with their love.
For their love is true,
I know this,
Because mine carry the same feeling.
True love,
Unspoken,
Ever-present,
Sometimes ignored,
Pushed aside,
To wait for a later day.
But someday,
It will wait no longer,
And love will reign free.
Beautiful.
