You Have No Idea
You smile at me and say,
"That was awesome!"
And you have no idea
How happy my day
you just made.
I feel my cheeks burn
and shyly say, "Thanks,"
and scrape the grass with my shoe
like you scrape my heart
it's another one of those stories
the girl falls for her best friend
you don't know how special you make me feel when you're around.
Your name is spoken
and I absent mindedly smile
You have no idea
What these dark blue eyes hide
"Well, I guess I'll see you,"
you stutter, and although
your departure makes my heart
blue, the thought that
you stutter around me too
sends my heart into a frenzy.
