The sun is hovering,
Lingering,
High in the sky;
Sinking oh so slowly
As time races by.

The harsh rays have softened
And cast a mellow pink glow,
That tickles,
Teases,
The horizon below.

The blue waves are calm,
Serene,
Beneath the radiant orb.
Reflecting the glow like a mirror,
Rays too beautiful to absorb.

I capture the moment,
Before it fades into darkness.
The glow that lights up the heart anew,
And shines into the soul;
The glow I only wish
To pass on to you :)

The author's comments:
A clooooose friend of mine (love ya Aubri!) took some pictures of a sunset over the lake and asked me to write a poem about it so she could give it as a Christmas gift. Heres what I wrote!! :) [the picture I used isn't the one my friend took, but it's as close as I could find :P]

!!!! ah! i love this! i could just see the rays and feel their warmth which i need because i'm frrrreezing! haha this is sweet! i especially LOVED:
