Open Up Your Eyes
You look right through me,
and see only her
I am invisible,
an unspoken word.
I'm trying to pretend,
Like everythings okay.
When on the inside I'm going insane,
Cause those lips aren't speaking my name.
When you glance at her,
You're seeing only her outer illusion.
You're missing the beauty that I behold,
The inner beauty that is within me.
You don't even recognize my face,
And she's constantly surrounding,
Taking my place.
What you haven't realized is that I'd do anything to please you.
I can be anyone, anything.
But you're caught up on looks, Leaving my glass heart to bleed.
Now it seems she's got you wrapped around her perfect little fingers.
And I am nothing but a stranger,
A memory that barely lingers.
If only you could look into the core of my mind and see,
A different perspective of my being.
If only you could learn to seek deeper-
Open your eyes and see,
My imperfections are my beauty.
