Dear Diary
Dear diary,
 Whatever made me write this?
 This awful truth of mine.
What possessed me to spill my guts
 with pen and paper,
 where everyone can see?
Why profess my one true love,
to the one thing that won't understand me?
 Why keep all my secrets,
 diary,
in the confines of your covers?
When did I tell you that I
 was failing?
 When did I mention
 my heartache?
 Why not tell these
 to my best friend?
 The taboo
 and the lies,
 the habits
 and the passion.
 Oh, that's right,
 society would murder
 me,
 and everybody
 if we did.
