Snow Clean
When it carpets the dirt, caulks the holes, and graces the trees,
When it reflects the sun and the light it frees,
When it settles over the world, silken and clean,
Like a blanket of pulchritude,
Giving our besmirched world a sparkling sheen.
Then it melts from the dirt, surges from the holes, and drips from the trees.
Then it consumes the sun and the light it keeps,
Then it leaves the world, coarse and unkempt,
Like the disruption of a beguiling dream that forces us back to actuality,
Returning our world back to its sinister reality.
